Even really good teams can get beat by not-so-good teams in CBB when they shoot less than 30% from the field in a half, and 7% from 3pt range. Duke upped both percentages in the 2nd half (to 52% and 30% respectively) and outscored SJU 53-47 in the 2nd half.

SJU played arguably their best game of the year at home, shooting 58% in the first half when they normally average around 45% per game. Honestly, Duke was struggling so hard to find buckets on the offensive end that it affected their defense--they didn't contest a lot of shots, especially in the lane, due to being so shook by their offensive woes.

One bad half of basketball beat Duke, not a "lesser talented team". Better to lose now and learn your lessons than in March/April.

I also find it hi-friggin-larious that you start more Duke threads than Duke fans do. Why not talk about your team? I didn't see you talking about UNC losing to a "lesser talented team" when they lost to Minnysoda earlier this year, or when they lost by 20 @Georgia Drek 2 weeks ago.

1) I'm not whining. I'm analyzing the game based on it's facts in the face of what is on your part, let's face it, pure hateration. If you want to put the hate aside and discuss the game itself, then by all means--let's do that.

2) I make it a habit to talk as little about UNC as I can, thank you very much. You getting on these threads and talking smack about Duke w/o analyzing the facts makes you as bad as Beck talking Democratic politics with a gross lack of facts.

I'm sorry, I'm a moderator. I'm pretty darn sure I've been around long enough to grasp the oh-so-intricate method of thread creation. You don't have the market cornered on the smarts it takes to make a thread. How condescending can you get?

Thread creation isn't the issue--the issue is that you want to bag on Duke and root against them so bad that you neglect to realize your boys are sucking it up at times this season too. I wouldn't say a word if you manned up on here and analyzed UNC's losses as they came (and they've come more often than Duke's this year, mind you), but you simply disappear like a fart in the wind when UNC loses, and then celebrate like Mardi Gras everytime Duke plays a tight game and/or loses.

Hateration, personified.

If you want to discuss the game on it's facts and from a pure basketball perspective using the stats, then by all means--I'm for it. I'll have a discussion with you on why Duke lost on those grounds, absolutely. However--when it's just you celebrating their 2nd loss of the season when your boys have 5 in the L column thus far...you don't have much room to flap your gums and beat your chest. Ignoring the facts and celebrating at someone else's expense = hateration, and hateration has no substance, meaning you and your "thread" can stick it...unless you want to actually discuss facts and analyze the game. Then we can talk.
